Your Winter Garden pool builder

Winter Garden is home for Blue Dream Pools. Our office is at 260 E Plant St, in the middle of the historic downtown, a few steps from the West Orange Trail. We are locally owned since 2004, and we have spent more than two decades designing and building custom gunite pools for the families who live here and in the surrounding West Orange communities. When you hire us, you are hiring neighbors who will still be here long after your pool is finished.

Winter Garden has grown fast, from the citrus town on the shore of Lake Apopka to the newer communities spreading south toward Horizon West. That growth means every kind of backyard: compact lots where every foot counts, larger estate lots with room for a pool, spa and outdoor kitchen, and older homes ready for a remodel. Like most of Central Florida, the area sits on sandy soils, and some parts have clay layers or a high water table near lakes and wetlands. We assess grade, drainage and soil conditions on your lot before design, engineer the gunite shell for the site and plan equipment placement so it is accessible but out of sight.

Permitting depends on your address. Homes inside the City of Winter Garden are permitted by the city’s Building Division, which asks for a notarized contractor application, a zoning compliance approval, signed and sealed plans, hydraulic (TDH) calculations, equipment specification sheets and a pool safety form. Homes with a Winter Garden mailing address outside city limits, including much of Horizon West, are typically permitted by Orange County through its Fast Track system. We confirm the right jurisdiction, prepare the plans and calculations, and pull the permit as a Florida certified pool and spa contractor (CPC1460083).

If your community has an HOA, its architectural review is the homeowner’s step, and we don’t submit it for you. We provide a clear set of plans and the details boards typically ask about, such as setbacks, equipment location and screen enclosure height, so your submittal goes smoothly. When your approval comes back, we handle the permit and construction.

We build new pools and remodel existing ones. New builds range from clean geometric pools with sun shelves to resort-style designs with raised spas, sheer descents, fire bowls and lighting. Remodels can bring an older pool up to date with new quartz plaster or Wet Edge pebble finishes, new tile and coping, refreshed decking and modern Hayward equipment, including variable-speed pumps and automation you can run from your phone.

Our warranty is written to last. Every new pool carries a lifetime structural shell warranty that can transfer to the next owner after a Blue Dream Pools transfer inspection. Quartz plaster carries a 10-year material warranty, pebble finishes are covered by Wet Edge’s warranty (we register it for you), Hayward equipment is covered for 3 years parts and labor, and tile, decking and screens carry our 1-year builder warranty.

Downtown Winter Garden’s Plant Street, the West Orange Trail and the farmers market make this a town where people like to be outside, and a backyard pool extends that lifestyle home. We often hear from families who want a place for kids to swim after school, a spa for cool winter evenings and a covered area to gather on weekends.

Here is how a Winter Garden project usually runs. It starts with a design consultation, by appointment, where we talk about how you want to use the yard, look at the lot and note anything that affects the build, from slope and drainage to access for equipment. Next we prepare a design and send an itemized proposal. When you are ready, you take the plans to your HOA if you have one, and we prepare the engineered drawings and submit the building permit to the City of Winter Garden or Orange County. Construction follows the usual sequence: layout, excavation, steel, plumbing and electrical, gunite, tile and coping, decking, equipment, and finally the interior finish and start-up. Inspections happen at the required stages along the way. When the pool is filled, we walk you through the equipment and how to care for your new finish.

Every pool is custom, so we don’t publish prices. After your consultation, we send an itemized proposal so you can see every part of the project. Visits to our Plant Street office are by appointment only, so call ahead or request a time online.
