Designing for larger lots and acreage
With more room to work, the pool can be placed for the view, the breeze and the afternoon shade instead of squeezed into the only open corner. On acreage we look at the walk from the house, where the equipment pad will sit, and how trucks will reach the backyard during construction. Many rural homes here use a private well and a septic system, so we locate the tank and drainfield early: the pool has to keep its required distance from them, and that often decides where it can go.
